At Yogam Yoga, a registered charity dedicated to empowering communities, we're excited to invite you to become a vital part of our Literacy Projects in Durban. With just one hour a week, you can make a significant impact on the lives of disadvantaged children in your community through our after-school tutoring programme.

Why Volunteer in Our Literacy Projects?

Our literacy initiatives focus on teaching basic literacy skills, primarily in English, alongside other essential subjects. Many of the children in our care face stunted educational growth, making your support crucial in helping them leapfrog out of poverty through the power of education. By volunteering your time, you can directly contribute to:

Logistics of Volunteering

When: Our literacy sessions take place after school, generally between 2 PM and 4 PM, depending on the school’s schedule.
Time Commitment: A minimum of one hour a week is required, but feel free to contribute more if your schedule allows. Every minute spent with these children is invaluable!
Role: You will be a mentor and a tutor, directly involved in helping children learn and grow academically.
