Unpack a Future – One Stationery Box at a Time
From now until the end of November, the Yogam Yoga Seva Network is launching a heartfelt initiative to support children in underserved communities as they prepare for the 2026 school year. Our goal is simple yet powerful: to ensure that every child walks into school with the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
Imagine a child arriving in January—wearing pre-loved uniforms and shoes, but without a single pen, pencil, or book. This is the reality for thousands of learners in greater Durban. With your help, we can change that.
Each shoebox you pack is more than just stationery—it’s a promise of hope, pride, and purpose.
📦 What to Donate
Please pack items into a recycled adult shoebox, decorated in bright, child-friendly designs. Each box should include:
✏ Essential Stationery
- 5 x Pencils
- 5 x Blue pens
- 1 x Boxed crayons
- 1 x Colour pencils
- 1 x 30cm ruler
- 1 x Glue stick
- 1 x A4 lined exercise book
- 1 x A5 exercise book
- 1 x Box of stick-on labels
- 2 x A4 plastic file sleeves
- 2 x Plastic folders
- 1 x Eraser
- 1 x Sharpener
- 1 x Child-friendly scissors
- 1 x Small pencil case
🧼 Hygiene & Treats
- 1 x Bar of soap
- 1 x Toothpaste
- 1 x Toothbrush
- 1 x Facecloth
- 1 x Packet of jelly-type sweets
- 1 x Small packet of chips
- 1 x Plastic water bottle
You can drop off your completed shoebox at any of our Yogam Yoga classes held around the school.

If you’re unable to pack a box, you can sponsor one for just R300 – no child is left behind.

🚚 Distribution Plan
We’re partnering with local children’s homes, NGOs, and school administrators to ensure every box reaches the hands of a child who truly needs it.

Start collecting recyclable shoeboxes and unused stationery. Add a few items weekly, and involve your children in the joy of giving. Every small act adds up to something extraordinary.
