There are places in the world that feel less like organisations and more like returning to yourself.
Yogam Yoga has become such a place – a quiet sanctuary where people of every background, belief system, and life story gather not to adopt a new identity, but to remember the one that has always lived within them.
For many of our members, Yogam Yoga has become more than a class, more than a community.
It has become a spiritual home – a place where the heart exhales.
A Home Rooted in Universality
When Duncan Rice founded Yogam Yoga, he carried a simple but profound conviction:
“Yoga is not a religious practice but a spiritual one, helping us discover our true nature — what we call self‑realisation — and deepen our spiritual path, no matter what our religion or belief system. Yogam Yoga is a home for all.”
This vision echoes the timeless ideals of Swami Sivananda and the Divine Life Society, whose mission was never to create a sect, but to create a space of freedom – a place where every seeker could grow according to their own inner light.
Sivananda wrote of the need for a spiritual home that imposed no restriction but the dictates of one’s own higher mind, a universal abode where a Christian becomes a better Christian, a Hindu a better Hindu, a Muslim a better Muslim.
Not by conversion, but by inner expansion.
Yogam Yoga stands firmly in this lineage of openness.
Where All Paths Are Honoured
In a world often divided by dogma, Yogam Yoga offers something refreshingly simple:
a place to breathe, to grow, to heal, and to remember the unity beneath all differences.
Here, you do not need to believe anything new.
You do not need to abandon anything old.
You only need to arrive with sincerity.
Our members often say that Yogam Yoga feels like:
- a place where they can pray without words
- a place where they can feel God without doctrine
- a place where they can belong without changing who they are
This is the heart of our community – a shared recognition that spirituality is not a label, but a lived experience.
Yoga as Divine Life in Practice
Swami Sivananda described Divine Life as:

SERVE, LOVE, GIVE, PURIFY, MEDITATION, REALISATION
- service (the salt of life is selfless service)
- universal Love (the bread of life is universal love)
- generosity (The fragrance of life is generosity)
- purity (The water of life is purity)
- meditation (The pivot of life is meditation)
- realisation (The goal of life is self-realisation)
These are not religious concepts.
They are human ones.
At Yogam Yoga, these ideals come alive in the simplest ways:
- in the kindness with which we greet one another
- in the silence we share before practice
- in the breath that unites us
- in the service we offer our communities
- in the compassion we cultivate for ourselves and others
Yoga becomes not something we do, but something we live.
A Sanctuary for the Modern Seeker
The world today is noisy.
People are hungry for meaning, connection, and inner steadiness.
Just as Sivananda recognised the spiritual hunger of his time, Yogam Yoga recognises the hunger of ours.
Here, you are not asked to escape the world.
You are invited to see it differently.
Yoga becomes a way of shifting the angle of vision –
from self‑interest to shared interest,
from fragmentation to unity,
from fear to love.
This is why so many who walk through our doors say,
“I feel like I’ve come home.”
The Heart of Yogam Yoga
At its core, Yogam Yoga is a living expression of one simple truth:
We are one family.
One humanity.
One breath.
One divine essence expressing itself through many forms.
Our community is built on fellowship, goodwill, mutual understanding, and the freedom to grow in your own way, at your own pace, in your own language of devotion or silence.
Whether you come from a Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, agnostic, or undefined background –
you are welcome.
You are seen.
You are held.
You belong.
A Place to Realise Your True Nature
Yoga, at its deepest, is the journey back to the Self – the quiet, luminous presence within you that is untouched by fear, division, or identity.
Yogam Yoga exists to support that journey.
Not by telling you what to believe,
but by helping you discover what has always been true.
Not by giving you a new religion,
but by deepening your spiritual path – whatever it may be.
Not by creating followers,
but by awakening seekers.
Yogam Yoga is a spiritual home for all.
A place of truth, love, purity, service, and unity.
A place where every soul is welcome.
A place where you can come as you are – and become who you truly are.
